Iowa SMP is Empowering Seniors to Prevent Healthcare Fraud.

Healthcare fraud is a $70 billion "business" in our country; one effective method to reduce this loss to taxpayers, is the grassroots program called "SMP." SMP aims to empower older citizens to PROTECT their personal information, DETECT Medicare and other healthcare payment errors or fraud, and REPORT those occurrences so funds can be recovered by the appropriate authorities. This statewide education and referral program is funded by the U.S Administration on Aging.
